SF2: Vietnam Air & Ground War Expansion 2.0 help please
Jarhead0331 replied to Jarhead0331's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
I do not recall seeing any of those instructions in the readme, so I did not do any of that. I've installed this mod on several different machines running several different operating systems, configurations and software versions over the years and I don't recall ever doing any of that, other than running the game once to create the "mod" folders. Anyway, I do seem to have managed to get it to run, so problem solved. I just wish I definitevly knew how so I could help others and avoid this again in the future. -
SF2: Vietnam Air & Ground War Expansion 2.0 help please

eburger68: Thanks for the reply. I seem to have sorted the problem, but I'm not entirely sure how. I deleted all of my SF2 titles and reinstalled. However, this time I did not reintall Israel or North Atlantic. I also purchased SF2 vanilla, reninstalled your mod and applied the Sept. 2013 update. I now appear to have the campaigns and the aircraft. Out of curiosity, do you think the problem could have been caused by an improperly merged installation of the various SF2 titles, ie. they were instaled in the wrong order. Alternatively, could the installations of Israel and North Atlantic somehow created a disruption somewhere? Thanks again for your thoughts. S/F -

So I cannot get this excellent mod to run on my newish Windows 8 machine. I have a merged install containing SF2:V, SF2:NA, SF2:I and SF2:E. All are running the July 2013 patch. I've installed all the mod subfolders into the proper "mod" folder in user/save games/Thirdwire/SF:V. I've checked the options.ini and its pointing to the correct folder. when I run SF2:V, I still just get vanilla SF2:V. It is not picking up and running the mod. Any tips? I thought maybe the July 2013 patch required me to install the the Sept 2013 update to the mod, but since I do not have SF2, I am unable to do that... Thanks in advance. -

Desert Storm for SF2 Released.....

Hey guys...very excited about this release, thanks! I am having one small problem though. Every time I try to get to the campaign screen from the main menu the game locks up. Instant action and single missions work great, but when I try to get into a campaign, I get a system freeze every time. What could be causing this? I noticed that the [campaign] section in the options.ini file still seems to be defaulting to "621026 Red Thunder"...could this be the problem? Otherwise i followed the read me directions to a fault. I'm running SF2 Europe April 2012. I do have other SF2 games installed, but without the merge. Thanks again! -
Odd graphics glitch...
Jarhead0331 replied to Jarhead0331's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
That is interesting...being that CFS3 is so old, I didn't think OFF would require much more juice. I do have a quad-core system, but it has vista-64 on it and I assumed OFF would run better on XP. If OFF will run well on vista-64, I'll just reinstall on my newer system. So, will OFF run well on a vista-64 system? -
I am having an odd graphics glitch that I can't seem to nip in the bud. I was going to post this in the help forum, but when searching to see if a similar topic had been posted, I read somewhere that its better to post tech issues in here... Anyway, the problem is difficult to describe, but it looks like a studder or shake. When I'm flying straight or level, it sometimes stops, but as soon as my aspect changes at all, it will start again. Note, it is NOT an fps issue. Its definitely a problem related to graphics. I've tried running in 800x600, 1024x768 and 1280x1024 and the same problem exists in each resolution. All details are on 4. I'm running on my XP machine, PentiumD 3.00GHz with 2GBram and a Nvidia GeForce 8800GT. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. Again, I've searched for similar topics, as well as running through the faqs...please help, as this issue is really preventing me from getting into or enjoying the game. Semper Fi
