  1. In what sense (my english is not always good enough to get the subtelties ) Is it unrealistic? I use those loadouts so that the AI can handle them (I witnessed the AI dropping 6 gbu-12 in a single line on a single target) Too everybody already thx for your feedback
  2. I need you! A couple of days ago, Sony Tuckson posted a comment to my latest update report on WOE:BC. It became clear to me from his comment, that i don't know everything on the period that I want to depict in my campaign, especially concerning weapon loadouts. So I thought I could submit each loadout to the community, watch the feedback and correct the campaign based on that feedback. So here is the first aircraft the F-16C block 30. Timeframe: 1989 - 1990 Aircraft: F-16C Block 30 Operator: USAF Missions: Sweep, Cap, Strike, CAS and Armed Recon Loadout A: Sweep/Cap 4 x Aim-9L 2 x 370 Gal Wing Tanks 1 x An/Alq-131 Loadout B: Strike 4 x Aim-9L 4 x AGM-65D 6 x Mk 82 Snake Eye 1 x An/Alq-131 Loadout C: CAS/Armed Recon 4 x Aim-9L 4 x AGM-65D 6 x CBU-59 1 x An/Alq-131 Any comment or suggestion is more then welcome, in the comming days I will post more loadouts. You can also read my latest blog entry here. Happy Flying Kingalbert
  3. for those interested, I am working on a post-1979 scenario (a 1990 scenario to be precise). Unfortunetaly I am working on my own so its a long process. You can read more about it here.

The LAU-88 Rack is used on the F-16 to attach a load of Maverick AGM-65's to the wings. In theory the LAU-88 can carry up to 3 missiles yet most F-16's never carry more then 2 missiles per LAU-88, especially with the AGM-65D. AFAIK this either done for weight reasons (the wing attachment points can't carry the weight of 3 AGM-65D), for G-limitations or either because the inward missile would get in the way of inner wing attachments. In SF/WOV/WOE/WOI the sim itself simulates this perfectly, yet when the player uses a custom loadout from the aircraft_loadout.ini, the mavericks are placed on both outside attachments of the LAU-88. I modified the existing LAU-88 by removing the inner attachment-point and keeping the outer and bottom attachment. The only prerequisite is that you have the original LAU-88A object. 6. thanks for the feedback That's exactly the kind of response I expect and need. I know something about aircraft, but I lack the day to day useage knowledge. With this kind of feedback I can edit the campaign to reflect reality as much as possible. Any suggestion is more then welcome
  7. What's wrong with this plane? You can find the answer on my blog. Or if you just want to see some fancy pictures, scroll a bit lower to some of the shots I took during campaign testing. . . . . . . . . . . . . 8. Just finished adding soviet Air forces operating in East Germany. You can read more on my blog. If you don't like reading here are some action shots I took during testing. AA gunner overwatching the results of his work F-15 heading for a fight MIG parts scattered all over the sky Happy flying
  9. No ETA yet, a quick glance of the still to do's= Add Mig-27 Add Su-22 Add Su-17 Add other warsaw pact aircraft Add additional ground objects ... As red aircraft, the Su-22 and Su-17 are replacements untill the Su-24 and Su-25 are available. Soviet helicopters are tempting, but I'll have to run some tests to see how the campaign uses them. Naval aircraft (F-14, A-6, F-18) are not included, unless there is demand for them. I use some Orders of Battle for NATO and Warsawpakt that I found here. The goal is to include all squadrons that would fly over Europe. I aim also to have a realistic what-if scenario (what if the Berlin Wall did not fell peacefully). for the distribution method, I have several options: one click install readme in txt-format extended instruction on dedicated blog I am seriously contemplating a form of blog, since I could write it simultaneously as an extended tutorial on how to build your own campaign. But i'll decide on that when I finished building the campaign.
  10. for the last couple of weeks I have been busy developping my first WOE campaign: Berlin Crisis (or WOE:BC). I am far from finished but after finally adding all the flyable aircraft, it's time to show the first (non-action) screenshots. I also keep track of my progress on my blog (introduction, update 1, update 2, update 3, update 4, update 5, update 6) Below are the images I use as loading screens. It ain't action pics, since I am still busy adding soviet fighters to the campaign.
  11. it seems that following aircraft downloads no longer work: F-16 F-18 Mig-29 F-14 I already sent a mail to the admins. Hopefully they can quickle solve this, because I really need that Mig-29
  12. When I try to access the downloads for aircraft (ie Mig-29, F-16) I get the message "You do not have access to this section of the site." Does anyone else has the same error?

Here is another Hangar and Loading Screen Pack. This time its for the G91-R1 Gina. You can either use this pack without the matching skins, but I do recommend downloading them, if not just for having another set of skins on your harddisk. The required skins are: G-91R1 US ARMY skin G-91 R1 Skin_51 AB G-91 R/1 Skin_5 AB For detailled installation instructions, check the readme. Happy Flying KingAlbert

Here is another HL pack this time for the A-7E Corsair II. The ultimate goal is to use these packs in the campaign I am developping, therefor you will also require this skin: Hellenic Corsair. Installation is easy: 1/ download the addon aircraft 2/ download the extra skin 3/ extract the files of this pack to the aircraft folder (overwritting the A-7E.ini, necessary to allow swapping between hangar and loading screens) For further details and explenation of this technique of using multiple screens can be found in the enclosed readme. This is another Hangar and Loading Screen Pack, this time for Wrench's Hellenic Air Force F-104G. Installation follows the same easy steps: 1. add the files to the appropriate aircraft directory 2. overwrite the aircraft ini file 3. edit the aircraft ini file to display the hangar and loading screen you want. I set the default to the camouflaged F-104G Happy Flying KingAlbert

  19. View File Mirage F-1C Hangar and Loading Screen Pack Here is another Hangar and loading screen pack. This time its base on the Mirage Factory Mirage F.1C Addon v1.5. I am working on a campaign, using these screen packs since its much easier for users to download and install the screen pack instead of having to meddle around in the files themselves. Again installation is quite easy, provided you have already installed the Mirage Factory aircraft. Simply drop the screens and adapted aircraft ini file in the aircraft folder (...\Objects\Aircraft\F-1C\) and you're ready to go. I set the default loading and hangar screen to the French Air Force, but those of you who prever flying with the Spanish or Greek air force can select their screens instead, just read the readme on how to switch between screen. 21. View File AV-8B Harrier II Plus Hangar and Loading Screen Pack Bobrock has made an excellent AV-8B Harrier II Plus. With his kind permission I created this Hangar and Loading Screen Pack, using the textureset method I developped. If you wish you can now display a loading screen for each of the skins he provided with the aircraft or use the default screens he created. As usual the pack is quite simple to install as long as you already have installed Bobrock's plane. Simply unpack the different screens in the pack and drop them in the AV-8Bplus folder alongside the edited aircraft ini file. I have set the US marines skin as default for the hangar and loading screen. For more detailled instructions on the textureset technique, see the enclosed readme. This is a set of hangar and loading screens for the Mirage Factory Mirage IIIE. Just like the F-16XL Hangar and Loading Screen Pack, it is possible with a small manual edit, to swap easily between different loading and hangar screens. To fully benefit from this pack you should also download: A Mirage 2000 skin for the Mirage IIIE the Skyfighter movie skin Regards KingAlbert

  25. View File F-16XL Hangar and Loading Screen Pack 1. Introduction =============== When downloading addon aircrafts and new skins I always felt a bit dissatisfied with the hangar and loading screens supplied by their makers. Not that they were wrong are bad, I simply don't like real-life pictures as either hangar screen or loading screen. Furthermore, I did not like that their is no match between the aircraft skin you choose and the loading and hangar screen you get to see. So I set out to find an easy way (within the confines of the simulation) to find a quick and easy way to get a match between the selected skin, hangar screen and loading screen. I figured out a way, by working with standardized filenames. The only disadvantage is that you need to select the appropriate hangar screen/ loading screen manually. But I suppose that most people fly in campaigns so it should be easy to set this up before you launch the simulation. 2. How does it work? ==================== First of all, you need to download yourself the addon aircraft and skins (don't worry I'll supply you with the appropriate links later on). Secondly extract this pack to a temporary file/directory, where you will find several files in this pack: Aircraft.ini file TextureSetXXX_Loading.bmp TextureSetXXX_Hangar.bmp (with XXX being replaced by incremental numbers) Each TextureSet file corresponds with the Textureset-entry of the same number in the aircraft ini. Copy these files to your aircraft directory: \Wings Over Europe\Objects\Aircraft\aircraftdirectory\. Only your aircraft.ini file will be overwritten, but that should not be a problem unless you have other skins installed then those mentionned in this readme. If you open the aircraft.ini file, you will notice that its an exact match with the original aircraft.ini file except for a few edits in the [AircraftData]-section and with the entries for the skins already added. The entries in the [AircraftData]-section should look like this: // original authors settings HangarScreen=... LoadingScreen=... //KingAlbert settings //HangarScreen=TextureSetXXX_Hangar.bmp //LoadingScreen=TextureSetXXX_Loading.bmp Now the double /-symbol indicates to the simulation must ignore that line. So the only thing you have to do to select the hangarscreen and loadingscreen is remove the /-symbols in front of the line. Keep in mind that all other hangar and loading lines need to be preceded by a // otherwise the simulation will use the first instruction. I kept in the original authors selection so you can easily revert back to his selection. 3. requirements =============== You need a legal copy of one of the many Thirdwire Sims (WOV, WOE, WOI). I only tested this pack in Wings over Europe, but I guess it should work fine in any of the other version. 4. Installing this pack ======================= 1) download and install the addon aircraft. Location: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=5011 2) download and install additional skins remember, you don't have to edit the aircraft.ini file yourself, I included a copy as part of this pack. a) NASA F16XL test skin location: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=5130 b) Tuskegee Tribute F-16XL location: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=5696 c) SEA camo F-16XL Location: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=5542 d) IAF F-16XL location: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=5013 3) install the files from this pack (see at the previous section How does it work? for instructions Submitter KingAlbert Submitted 05/24/2008 Category SF/WO* Hanger/Menu/Loadout
