  1. Nice furball you've got there, Kendo! Looking very good. About your arm - get an adjustable desk (if you haven't already). Having a desk that I can move up and down to change my work-position (for example stand up for while) have done wonders for my sore arms/legs/back/neck. Such a desk can be quite expensive, though. A decent one at least.
  2. All sounds great, Kendo! With regards to the forests/framerate issue - I've always thought the IL2 solution was pretty brilliant. Forests look very realistic from above (which is where you'll be most of the time) and are extremely frame-rate friendly. I know a lot of people complain about the IL2 forests, but to me they are an almost perfect solution to the framerate issue - making it possible to have long stretches of dense, realistic looking "3-d" forests without having it eat up all your ram. I personally don't mind these kinds of "cheats" - the only times I notice the 2-d nature of the IL2 forests is when I crash into them. Otherwise they look great to me. Is the IL2 approach to forests something you have considered?
  3. Good to see some pictures! I like that flak too. Kendo, how much are you planning to do with the terrain? Are we going to see hills and 3-d forests/villages, for example?
  4. Hi, I've just registered with the sole purpose of cheering you on a bit. It looks like a great project you've undertaken and I wish you the best of luck. I really hope you manage to finish this - it looks and sounds like a wonderful game. I'm an old RB3-D'er myself, and while I like realism and fancy graphics (especially a visually satisfying damage model) the most important thing is an immersive campaign. And since RB3-D nobody has ever come close to making a really satisfying campaign-experience in a flight-sim (for me, anyway). The point is, I think, that nobody has ever really dared to try. No flight sim has even dared trying to match the campaign of RB-3D. Falcon 4 and Rowan's BoB are not comparable as these are 'operational' campaigns, focusing on battle-planning and the big, strategic picture and do not have the personal, almost narrative career-perspective of RB3-D's campaign. But to me, it sounds like you are out to make a campaign experience rivaling the one of RB3-D. And for that, the ambition alone, you deserve the highest praise. Good luck! Regards, Norman P.S. - I'm no coder and have no artistic talents, but if you need some input or ideas on campaign features/dynamics I'll be glad to be your sparring partner somewhere down the line. P.P.S. - Is there anything further you could reveal about the career-mode of your sim? Scope, features (planned and wishful thinking), overall ambition...?
