Good morning all GOOD NEWS, because i acted like a big brat and spat my dummy out over this game i wasnt prepared to mess about trying to hunt down the probs i was having. But you good people have sorted me out with your kind words of advice and have talked me back from the cliff edge of launching my game out the bedroom window . My horrendous unplayable at times graphic stutters was due to not having SP3 installed on my copy of XP. So last night i dl SP3 and put it on my machine ,i rebooted and ran OFF and held my breath and said a prayer to the gods of gaming . BINGO its runs as smooth as a codpiece made of silk. So my fellow flyers i must apologise for being a complete idiot and must give out BIG BIG thank yous to every one who gave up their time to help a clown like me. I am in work now but as soon as i get home its over the western front for me WAHEEY! Stapme

Wow a lot of answers and a lot of good sound advice , i shall persevere and start to try and track down the prob. I have a few ideas of what it may be so i will have a go. I know its not a heat issue i play COD 5 for hours no crash il2 same SH4 maxed out on graph settings no worries. I have a feeling it could be the service pack thing. I think of the top of my noggin that i am only up to 2 and not 3 . I run xp, intel quad 6600 processor 2.4 , 4 gig ram although xp only allows 3 to work. Nvidia 8800gt card with the latest drivers I have all the sliders set as recommended ie: 43341 and i still get this stuttering where the whole screen sorta stutters every 10 secs or so. I have posted earlier about a site that said that CFS3 didnt like multi core cpus and to disable them so it ran on 1 and true it does run fine on 1, however if some of you have the same cpu as me and OFF runs fine then so should mine i am at a loss. BUT you kind people have give me some pointers so i shall now start the hunt to find the prob Thanks all for your help ill get there in the end hopefully Stapme

After sorting out my graphic issues by turning off 3 of the 4 cores on my processor to get OFF running properly i (not happy about that but what the heck). I finally flew my first mission ,i set up a persona in the RFC and set off to escort a 2 seater over Hunland whilst it took some recce photos. Anyway after flying for 40 mins and getting 3/4 of the way WHAM crash to the briefing/debrief screen i sat there stunned for 30 secs . So today is last chance saloon for OFF if it messes up in any way its ebay bound for £15 and i will buy Rise of flight which is the game all my squad mates are flying . I can here their told you so's already. Sorry people but its just one big hassle, one thing after another and for the price i paid and i know my pc specs are up to the task i cant be arsed getting the runaround with it Stapme

Hello all Ok after seemingly sorting my stuttering graphics out by disabling 3 of my four processor cores to get OFF running so its playable for me. I made my persona RFC side and flew off on my 1st mission which was to escort a 2 seater whilst it took recon photos over hunland, So i gets 3/4 of the way to area and gets a crash back to the brief/debrief area.To say i wasnt happy is an understatement so its last chance salloon for OFF for me .I will give it another go tommorow and if it happens again after spending 40 mins flying time for the game to crash again then its off to ebay for £15 with it and ill get Rise of flight instead or wait for the free WW1 conversion being done to the il2 game .Its just too much hassle im afraid. Hello Uncleal well i got this track ir 2 when they first came out about 5 /6 years ago i suppose. Its lasted me well all the way through il2 which is what i got it for. Funny enough i have just ordered track ir 4 pro with vector thingy and clip ,and i am giving this track ir 2 to one of my sqdn mates in il2 Stapme

Hello again the other big prob i have is that i cant get track ir 2 to work in game ,OFF doesnt recognize it at all no movement or anything anyone else have this prob? Stapme

First of all hello all , i bought the game last week installed it and have been plauged with bad stuttering in the graphics ever since. Now i have a good machine 3gb ram ,intell quad 6600 processor nv 8800gt card so i know the pc can handle a game that uses old tech (CFS3). I looked at all the forums and tried all the fixes eg sliders down from 5 to 1 or 2 any way all to no avail. However i came across a site that states that cfs3 will not work properly on mullti core machines, it causes stuttering and screen flickering .It also gave me a down loadable mini programme to fix it so after dl it and running a virus checker on it i thought what the heck and installed and ran cfs3 through the desk top icon that this programme put on. Cfs 3 ran smooth so i clicked the OFF luanch icon and the bad stutters were still there.Now this little programme shuts down 3 of my cores and lets cfs3 run on 1 core which solved the prob but it dosent work when i ckick OFF icon. So i launched OFF went to ctrl alt delete got the task manager up found OFFexe running right clicked on it and under afinity unclicked 3 of the cores and left 1 running . I then went back to OFF and hey presto it was running perfectly no stutters,flickering or any graphic issues at all. If this solution has been posted on this forum then i apologise for wasting your time but i havent found it. I didnt sort this out till midnight last night and i was knackered so i went to bed i am now in work posting on the forum so when i get home i will post up a link to the site i got the mini programme from. The one thing that is needed is for some bright spark to make a mini loader for OFF that shuts down the 3 cores or 1 if you have a duo like the one for cfs3 instead of havind to load OFF and doing the ctrl alt tab thing Any way hope this helps, basically if you have a multi core processor CFS3/OFF wont like it or run properly and you have to disable all the cores except 1 and then it will run perfectly Ok found the site that explains the core thingy http://www.easyhr.com.au/software/easy_cfs3.htm This puts the desk top icon to run cfs3 with cores off but 1 what we need is the same thing but running OFF Stronty
