  4. A mod to enhance (more) our SF-2 immersion, to use mostly in our custom campaigns.

Decals, Skins, Userlists, Data.ini, Cockpits and Planes tailored for Nam use.

In fact I was bored of all that Charlies with all the same serial numbers for every plane model …

So I took the real numbers and made the correct serial for EVERY known VPAF plane.
    Now randomized.

You’ll find the Ace’s name who flown each aircraft, if known, beside his number, too.

I worked on the userlists to allow the program to use in VietnamSea theatre a VPAF and not a Soviet Skin. Kill marks added.

This new version add several planes (see list below) and brand new / skins.

Each model has canopy animation enabled and dedicated sound.

    Pilots, weapons included.

A new main screen and an old (but good) icon inside.

This mod is set to work on a full merged vanilla install or on a SF2V Eburger68 great enhanced install, but the “real” J-5A “Fresco-D” added in this pack needs to delete his previous J-5A and J-5 folder and edit all campaigns (see optional folder).

These are models You have (with part 2 of True VPAF):

    Mig-15 UTI VPAF (1 Skins 16 numbers), Cambodia (1 Skin 2 numbers), PLAAF (2 Skin 12 numbers). Stary's Pit.

  7. The Sukhoi Su-7 (NATO designation name: Fitter-A) was a swept wing, supersonic fighter aircraft developed by the Soviet Union in 1955.
Originally, it was designed as tactical, low-level dogfighter, but was not successful in this role.
On the other hand, soon-introduced Su-7B series became the main Soviet fighter-bomber and ground-attack aircraft of the 1960s.
The Su-7 was rugged in its simplicity but its shortcomings included short range and low weapon load.
It had 4 hardpoints, later implemented to 6. This pack portrays both early and later version for each BM/BKL/BMK types.

    What's in:

    Su-7 [DLC AI planes 2]
    Su-7B
    Su-7BM (4 & 6 hardpoints)
    SU-7BKL (4 & 6 hardpoints) [new]
    Su-7BMK (4 & 6 hardpoints)

All flyables (the stock ones only reading flagged but with restore file for after patch edits)

Each with new/stock fixed/old edited/restored skins & proper historical decalset

    sound & pilots

    canopy open = 10 key

    improved weaponloads

tweaked userlists (Su-7BM: LSK fake skin removed - Soviet '75 Camo left only for fun)

left/right wing red/green lights issue solved.

For IAF Su-7BMK / type 22: please D/L specific plane.

  9. The Su-9 emerged from aerodynamic studies by TsAGI, the Soviet aerodynamic center, during the Korean War, which devised several optimum aerodynamic configurations for jet fighters.
The design first flew in 1956 as the T-405 prototype.
The Su-9 was developed at the same time as the Su-7 'Fitter', and both were first seen by the West at the Tushino Aviation Day on 24 June 1956, where the Su-9 was dubbed Fitter-B.
    It entered service in 1959.
Total production of the Su-9 was about 1,100 aircraft.
It is believed that at least some Su-9s were upgraded to Su-11 'Fishpot-C' form.
None were exported to any of the USSR's client states nor to the Warsaw Pact nations.
Remaining Su-9s and later Su-11s were retired during the 1970s.
Some were retained as test vehicles or converted to remote-piloted vehicles for use as unmanned aerial vehicles.
It was replaced by the upgraded Su-11 and the much-superior Su-15 'Flagon' and MiG-25 'Foxbat'.

    What's in:

    - a new flyable plane
    - great Stary's cockpit built in

    Note:
Su-9.ini is flagged as only reading (sola lettura) to avoid patching rewriting, so the plane will be flyable until you'll not change files property, maybe to add further skins. By the way a recovery copy is included.

This is for Stary the "pitmaker".

  13. The production of the MiG-21s in India under license by Hindustan Aeronautics in Nasik started
with the MiG-21FL in 1966 in four phases starting with the assembly of CKD kits, moving on to
subassemblies, parts, and finally advancing to production from scratch.

205 MiG-21FLs, designated Type 77 and nicknamed Trishul ("Trident), were built in India between
1966 and 1972; the first one built entirely from Indian-made components was delivered to the IAF
on 19 October 1970, with the first Indian-made R11F2S-300 powerplant leaving the assembly line
    on 2 January 1969.

In the late 1970s, the IAF began acquiring MiG-21M/MFs, consequently a large part of the MiG-21FL
    fleet were sent into storage.
However in the mid-1980s, these FLs were pulled out of storage and retrofitted with two extra
pylons and were fitted with IFF-400 antennas(on the nose).

  14. In the late 1950s, the Soviet Air Force was seeking a jet-powered replacement for its fleet of piston-engined trainers, and this requirement was soon broadened to finding a trainer aircraft that could be adopted in common by Eastern Bloc air forces. Aero's response, the prototype XL-29 designed by Z. Rublic and K. Tomáš first flew on 5 April 1959, powered by a British Bristol Siddeley Viper engine. The second prototype was powered by the Czech-designed M701 engine, which was used in all subsequent aircraft.

The basic design concept was to produce a straightforward, easy-to-build and operate aircraft. Simplicity and ruggedness were stressed with manual flight controls, large flaps and the incorporation of perforated airbrakes on the fuselage sides providing stable and docile flight characteristics, leading to an enviable safety record for the type. The sturdy L-29 was able to operate from grass, sand or unprepared fields. Both student pilot and instructor had ejection seats, and were positioned in tandem, under separate canopies with a slightly raised instructor position.

In 1961, the L-29 was evaluated against the PZL TS-11 Iskra and Yakovlev Yak-30 and emerged the winner. Poland chose to pursue the development of the TS-11 Iskra anyway, but all other Warsaw Pact countries adopted the Delfin under the agreements of COMECON.

  16. The Hunter F.4 first flew on 20 October 1954, and entered service in March 1955. A distinctive Hunter feature added on the F.4 was the pair of blisters under the cockpit, which collected spent ammunition links to prevent airframe damage. Crews dubbed them "Sabrinas" after the contemporary movie star. 365 built in service till '57.

  17. The Hunter F.2, which used the Armstrong-Siddeley Sapphire engine, did not suffer from engine issue. Further problems occurred; ejected cannon ammunition links had a tendency to strike and damage the underside of the fuselage, and diverting the gas emitted by the cannon during firing was another necessary modification. The original split-flap airbrakes caused adverse changes in pitch trim and were quickly replaced by a single ventral airbrake. This meant, however, that the airbrake could not be used for landings.Only 45 planes were built and entered in service only with 257 and 263 squadrons.

  18. The Hunter F.1 entered service with the Royal Air Force in July 1954. It was the first high-speed jet aircraft equipped with radar and fully powered flight controls to go into widespread service with the RAF.
The Hunter replaced the Gloster Meteor, the Canadair Sabre, and the de Havilland Venom jet fighters in service. Initially, low internal fuel capacity restricted the Hunter's performance, giving it only a maximum flight endurance of about an hour. A tragic incident occurred on 8 February 1956, when a flight of eight Hunters was redirected to another airfield due to adverse weather conditions.
Six of the eight aircraft ran out of fuel and crashed, killing one pilot. Another difficulty encountered during the aircraft's introduction was the occurrence of surging and stalling with the Avon engines.

  19. The RF-8 Crusader was a photo-reconnaissance development and operated longer in U.S. service than any of the fighter versions.
RF-8s played a crucial role in the Cuban Missile Crisis, providing essential low-level photographs impossible to acquire by other means.
U.S. Naval Reserve units continued to operate the RF-8 until 1987.

  20. Delivery of the Tu-16 to China began in 1958, and the Xi'an Aircraft Industrial Corporation (XAC) signed a license production agreement with the USSR to build the type in the late 1950s.
The first Chinese Tu-16, or "H-6" as it was designated in Chinese service, flew in 1959.
Production was performed by the plant at Xian, with at least 150 built into the 1990s.

  21. Although the Tu-16 began as a high-altitude, free-fall bomber, in the mid-1950s it was equipped to carry early Soviet cruise missiles.
The Tu-16KS (Badger-B) version could carry AS-1 missiles over a combat radius of 1,800 km (1,125 mi).
These very large weapons were aerodynamically similar to the Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15 fighter,
fitted with either a nuclear or conventional warhead, had a range of about 140 km (90 mi).
They were intended for use primarily against US Navy aircraft carriers and other large surface ships.
Subsequent Tu-16s were converted to carry later, more advanced missiles, while their designations changed several times.
A versatile design, the Tu-16 was built in numerous specialized variants for reconnaissance, maritime surveillance,
electronic intelligence gathering (ELINT), and electronic warfare (ECM).
A total of 1,507 aircraft was constructed in three plants in the Soviet Union, in 1954–1962.
They were exported to Egypt, Iraq and Indonesia.

  23. The United Kingdom bought versions based on the U.S. Navy's F-4J for use with the Royal Air Force and the Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm. The main differences were the use of the British Rolls-Royce Spey engines and of British-made avionics. The RN and RAF versions were given the designation F-4K and F-4M respectively, and entered service with the Phantom FG.1 (fighter/ground attack) and Phantom FGR.2 fighter/ground attack/reconnaissance) British designations.
