About This File
A mission involving a hunt for Russian MLRS battery. Multiple Smerch MLRS units firing at precise times and hitting military targets. The tasking is for two A-10's to go out and search within a defined geographic area (approx. 100 sq km) to locate this battery before they flatten the entire Sevastopol area. The A-10 pilots will have to visually spot the MLRS battery. More specifically they will be looking for the smoke trails and dust of a MLRS launch. These launches are visible from many km away and this particular Russian MLRS battery commander seems to favor Salvo's that last approx 10 minutes. :)The sun is just setting in this evening mission. You and your wingman will be carrying Mavericks, Mk20 and Mk82 bombs as well as Suu-25 flare dispenser. The flare dispenser has LUU-2 high-intensity illumination flares, which can be used to illuminate the target area. The LUU-2 is housed in a pod and is deployed by ejection. The mechanism has a timer on it that deploys the parachute and ignites the flare candle. The Flares have a burn time of approximately 5 minutes while suspended from a parachute and they will turn night into day. This is my first attempt at a LOMAC mission. Give it a try. Let me know what you think. Slamo
