Gambler Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Is there a guide online to importing WoV planes into SFP:1? I looked through the Sticky topics, but didn't find anything...I probably missed it... Many thanks Quote
BUFF Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 What do you want to import? The only ones that I can think that you might want would be the F-105/A-6 but you can use ArmourDaves F-105s which most people think are better & there is a 3rd party A-6 too. Quote
eightlein Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 As I learned and still are, so shall you :) . Try the menu's here for AC d/l's. Or some of the links also have a good supply also. Column5.us is a good source. Dont be shy, the forum will help you. Also thirdwire.com has great tech forums. Enjoy. Quote
Gambler Posted January 19, 2006 Author Posted January 19, 2006 I got WoV when it first came out...just picked up SFP:1 recently. I have no problems in adding add-on plane packages...got too many to fly already...I am more curious about taking, for example, the F-4J out of WoV and putting it into SFP:1. I've already got the F-4J from TW...I figured knowing the process on "How-To" would help me if there's something else I wanted to put into SFP:1 from WoV. The 105 was a plane that I wanted to import into SFP:1...I haven't checked out ArmorDave's yet. I figured on using the Thirdwire ones as I'm guessing they have the lower level .LOD's that help out framerates with multiple aircraft on-screen on my mid-level system. Quote
+howling1 Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 (edited) For the F-4J, just DL from ThirdWire, and in the installation process make sure that the target folder is your SFP1 folder. The general drill for transfering planes from WOV to SFP1 is to use the .cat file extractor to extract all the files for that particular plane from the ObjectsData.cat file ( Located in the Objects folder ), and place them in that particular plane's folder in the Objects/Aircraft folder. Once you've done this it's a simple matter of copying the aircraft folder from one game to another. In WOV, I have the SFP1 F-104G, An-12, & C-130 flying. In SFP1, I have the WOV B-52, MiG-21PFV & MiG-17 flying... And yes, AD's F-105s are better... Edited January 19, 2006 by howling1 Quote
Gambler Posted January 20, 2006 Author Posted January 20, 2006 Thanks for the info, Howling...I've got the Phantom J and the A4F from Thirdwire installed. The part that threw me was placing all the extracted objects into the Aircraft folder instead of the Object folder. That's what I tried the first time and I was a "No-go" at that station... I was thinking more along the lines of WoV's 105 because I knew it has lower level .LOD's to save on some frames, but I will check out ArmorDave's. Quote
