Plymouth issues- CTD when I look at it!

I'm enjoying the SHAR missions a lot (once the ships are relocated to the north sea, not the Rhone valley where they seemed to think they should have been!), but adding in small escorts causes some probs- for some reason I can't look at the Plymouth or Yarmouth without crashing to desktop!. Are these polygon heavy meshes? I ask as that's why I can't run the tornados (I think). Any tips much appreciated, as from screen shots they look delightful.

 

P.S. part of me really wants to see T42s/Hercules, and t22s- dodging seadart and sea wolves would be lovely.
