Video Card Advice

I know about the newer cards but I really need advice on the following. ATI X1800 XL or ATI 7800 GT? Or how about dual 6600 GT's? Any advice is appreciated!

You would probably want the X1800 out of whatyou have listed. The 7800 is older generation ATi by 2 and dual 6600's wouldn't get you optimum bang per buck. You'll get bang, but not for the bucks spent when you could get the X1800. Just my $0.02.

Actually a 7800GT is probably a slightly better value card than the X1800XL (which is of course ATi's last gen card) & broadly comparable.

 

nVidia is launching the 7900GT next week - this is really a tweaked 7800GT expected to add ~10% performance at the same price.

It will also of course drive the price for the 7800GT down further.

 

If you could supply details of the systems that it is to run in, monitor & main apps/games it would help.
