Beery Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 I've been playing WoV version 1 for a few days. Today I found and installed the three game patches, and now the sky is significantly darker than it was before (noontime is now like late afternoon/early evening). I tried adjusting my computer's gamma and brightness settings, but it doesn't do anything. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, is there a solution?
+Fubar512 Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 You mean, does it look like this right out of the box? No. These are the "NightSky" values I use in the Environment System.ini: [Night] SunHeight=-0.170 SunBrightness=0.00 SunLightLevel=0.00 SunRadiance=0.0 TwilightLensFlare=0.0 SunColor=0.0000,0.000,0.000 AmbientColor=0.04,0.03,0.05 SkyColor=0.01,0.01,0.01 HorizonColor=0.0,0.0,0.0 FogColor=0.0,0.0,0.0 SunSpecularColor=0.0000,0.000,0.000
Beery Posted May 5, 2006 Author Posted May 5, 2006 You mean, does it look like this right out of the box? No. That looks like night-time.
+Fubar512 Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 No. That looks like night-time. Hmmm, I could have sworn that you had mentioned the night sky. Must have been an unholy trinity (on my part) of fatigue, eyestrain, and Crown Royal.... <_< Try these EnvironmentSystem.ini settings: [Day] SunHeight=0.240 SunBrightness=5.00 <------ this is key SunLightLevel=0.999 <----- do not enter "1.0" (or greater), as that'll introduce strange effects & colors SunRadiance=0.0 TwilightLensFlare=0.0 SunColor=0.545,0.550,0.528 AmbientColor=0.350,0.350,0.385 SkyColor=0.376,0.564,0.815 HorizonColor=0.811,0.815,0.937 FogColor=0.564,0.627,0.805 SunSpecularColor=0.81,0.762,0.740
Beery Posted May 7, 2006 Author Posted May 7, 2006 Try these EnvironmentSystem.ini settings... Hmm. I looked in all the game folders. There's an 'EnvironmentSystem.dll' which contains a lot of coded stuff, but no EnvironmentSystem.ini file. Do we have to create the file ourselves, or am I just failing to look in the right place for it?
jrdani Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 You have to extract it (EnvironmentSystem.ini) from the FlightData.cat file located in your Flight folder, using the SFP1E Extract utility. If you don't already have the Extract utility, you can download it here: My Webpage Hope this helps you.
