Is the US_Squad USMC? (sorry, no Army designation in WOV. apparently they didn't show up.) and Friendly. Is the VC_Squad NVietnam and Enemy? If so, put them a couple of hundred meters apart and they will just go at it...RPG's and AKs and bazookas and M16's. The VC is not as tough as the NVA. Also, put in a T-54 (there weren't any T-55's) and an M48. They get nasty right away.

Don't get lost in the ground thing. Be magnanimous. Be up in the air with something evil and high drag and just do them all and let Red Crown sort it out.

my problem now seems to be preventing them from killing each other too quickly. I need some time to fly to the target area. i guess i could have them appear later or maybe place them further apart and have them coming to each other.

I've also just discovered that if you put a 16 unit group the game crashes when loading.

The mission editor allows you to have them appear later...you know that. Also, you have the ability to activate a function that allows you to know when various objects will arrive where.

I like to watch the game on the way to the target but the infantry is so undefined that I just use them for the effect of making the battle make sense.

In a fast mover in those days, you seldom saw people anyway.
