peppergomez Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 (edited) hi all, giving woe a try, and as a noob to the series i was curious if there was a thread devoted to the effective usage of wingmen in woe. i had a bandit locked up on my radar, but my wingman refused to attack (he had aa missiles). also, i noticed when i told a wingie to turn his radar on he kept responding 'no joy' or some such negative, though he was in the same plane as me and had aa missiles. finally, i do not know how to tell them how to attack various ground targets- must i lock the ground target up first? (heh, don't even know how to do that yet, since i got several ground returns on my radar but the same button that acquires an airborne radar return didn't seem to work on ground targets). is there an 'attack general targets' command, so that wingies will attack various enemy structures instead of needing to be told to attack a specific one? thanks. Sky Captain Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 You should be able to tell your flight (Your 3rd & 4th wingmen) to attack ground targets (Meaning they'll attack everything until they've run out of A2G munitions), and your wingman (Wingman #2) to attack the target you've selected. ('E' for ground targets, 'T' for aircraft, if I remember correctly) You can't lock-up ground returns on radar, that just shows you how far they are and where they are in relation to you.
peppergomez Posted September 25, 2006 Author Posted September 25, 2006 thanks. strange that #2 wouldn't fire on the drone that i'd locked up how then to i target/lock up ground objects?
+Fubar512 Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 thanks. strange that #2 wouldn't fire on the drone that i'd locked uphow then to i target/lock up ground objects? Locking up an airborne target on radar or via heat seeker tone will not result in a wingman "seeing" it. You must target it via shift+T (then hitting the F4 key to verify that it's the right target). That will serve to identify the target for your wingman. As Skycaptain mentioned before, a ground target is aquired with the "E" key, which again serves to ID it for your wingman. Try cycling through the view keys, so you become aquainted with them.
