super61 Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 Hi Fellas, Over the summer, I recall someone had established a link in this or other CombatAce forum regarding a class action lawsuit involving Maxtor hard drives. Sure enough, this past Wednesday, my 2 yr. old drive completely crashed (the place I took it to said it nothing was recoverable), so I ended up losing everything, including all my WOV mods. I know, I know, get a backup. I've learned the lesson the hard way. Has anyone heard if anything moved forward? Super61 Quote
+Fates Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 I have not. But I have not...because I've never owned a Maxtor Drive...so no need to pay attn to a lawsuit.. Western Digital is all for me. Fates Quote
+BUFF Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 I've had IBM, WD & Samsung fail on me but never a Maxtor (yet). It's the nature of the beast though that with a mechanical device there will be failure over time. Not sure where you are but it would still be covered under warranty here. Btw you may be surprised what is recoverable depending upon how much you are prepared to pay ... Quote
