Alexander51 3 Posted January 24, 2007 Dear TexMurphy and EmlD: Just got done flying the latest incarnation of this ever-evolving N28. I collided with a Fokker Dr.1 and lost my entire tail section. The strange thing is that I was still able to maintain full elevator response! Flight model was in HARD setting. Don't know if anyone else has reported this type of event, but I thought I should alert you to it. Next time I'll remember to take a screenie :) Otherwise I still love this aeroplane. Great job my friends <S> Craigster guy
+EmlD 3 Posted January 24, 2007 Thanx MrCraig41 for the report... i changed few lines in the data.ini.... hope it works (not sure) Here another problem, it depends maybe on the upper one.... Why, when i shot off the Tail, does the VertTail detach, but Stabilizers do not..? I think it has something with the DamageRating to do. What is actually a differense between DamageRating=DESTROYED DamageRating=DISABLED DamageRating=HEAVY ??? EmlD
Guest capun Posted January 24, 2007 Thanx MrCraig41 for the report... i changed few lines in the data.ini.... hope it works (not sure) Here another problem, it depends maybe on the upper one.... Why, when i shot off the Tail, does the VertTail detach, but Stabilizers do not..? I think it has something with the DamageRating to do. What is actually a differense between DamageRating=DESTROYED DamageRating=DISABLED DamageRating=HEAVY ??? EmlD IMHO, The problem is that the tail got destroyed and detached, but everything that was linked to the tail get detached at the same time, but since they were not hit, they did not detached individually Try to add this variables to your Tail section in the Data ini [Tail] . . . RemoveNode[001]=StabWires ; just an example DetachNode[001]=StabLeft ; justa an example DetachNode[002]=StabRight ; justa an example See if they detach individually Hope it helps
+TexMurphy 0 Posted January 24, 2007 Or dont detach the vert tail from the tail... that way if the tail is shot off it falls off in one piece... unless the vert tail it self got hit... you should be able to have assymetrical detach... tail detaching from body and vert tail from tail you dont need to have it both directions.. Tex Another question what N24 version we talking? bis or non bis??
Red Von Hammer 0 Posted January 24, 2007 I think it was a Bis we were talking about in Teamspeak, but am not sure, that`s up to EmlD. But would be good to clarify so we can dig up info about the plane intended for creation here. S! RvH
+TexMurphy 0 Posted January 24, 2007 Also any specific reason to choosing the less common 24 over the more common 27??? Tex
Red Von Hammer 0 Posted January 24, 2007 Well, I can`t speak for EmlD here, but I think having a less common plane in the game would be cool. EmlD said the plane looked pretty cool from lloydnb`s picture of it as well. But I am not sure and I won`t say anything for sure, it`s up to EmlD here. It`s his call. S! +EmlD 3 Posted January 24, 2007 Hi! It will be a N24 bis... (ruder like N17), one Vickers, and one Lewis MG.... Why?...coz of blueprints....the N24 blueprints i have are much better then the blueprints for N27 :) There are a related article http://mkmagazin.almanacwhf.ru/avia/neupor_xxivbis.htm in russian :) hehe... there is a data for BIS on that page Power - 120 h/p Length- 6,4 m Wingspan- 8,15 m Wing Area - 15m2 Max waight - 567kg Speed - 170 km/h Climb to 3000m- 9,4min And here my digget up links: http://www.worldwar1.com/dbc/npt24.htm http://www.airliners.net/search/photo.sear...inct_entry=true http://ww1.iatp.org.ua/awNewpor24c.htm http://www.cofe.ru/avia/N/N-46.htm http://eroplan.boom.ru/shavrov/chr5/forin/france3.htm http://aircraft.lintec.ru/src/mod/nieu_2427.htm Some date are different on this pages.... +EmlD 3 Posted January 24, 2007 (edited) Ok, sorry for rapidshare.... here N28.rar under first (normal) host. http://emld.de/mxcl/downloads/N28.rar But templates i leave on rapidshare. Edited January 24, 2007 by EmlD
+TexMurphy 0 Posted January 24, 2007 thanks for the references EmID just to double check... in the n28.ini LoadoutFile=N28_loadout.ini and not pointing to spad13_loadout.ini Also will you have the same node names for everything on the N24? In that case I could start working on the FM using the N28 3d model... Tex
+EmlD 3 Posted January 24, 2007 Oh, yes ini loadout...fixed, rar updated... N24 will have same stucture...you can start on FM
+TexMurphy 0 Posted January 24, 2007 Updated FM changes 1. Lift moved to wing tips 2. Speed tuning, 122 is on the deck and fades a bit too qickly with increased alt. 3. Lowered the climb rate to about 1100 from about 1300 The lowering of the climb rate results in a little bit of vertical loss but I do think it was just a tad over the top. +TexMurphy 0 Posted January 24, 2007 EmID What Rx, Ry, Rz values did you use in your MOI calcuations?? Tex
+EmlD 3 Posted January 24, 2007 (edited) Rx=0.396 Ry=0.387 Rz=0.548 I equalized them from SPADs Emptyinertia...and they should be constant....so you can equalize them from FOKKERs empty inertia, the differences should be minimal. (N28.rar updated with new FM) EDIT: sorry, there is no formula in notes for MomentOfInertia, i didnt change it (is from SPAD) what i have calculated is EmptyInertia..... Red Von Hammer 0 Posted January 25, 2007 I just wanna mention that you guys are doing a Terrific job at the Nieuport 28! I love how the cocking handles are moving when the gun is fired! And the Flight Model, no matter how weird you guys say it is. I think is terrific as well! Keep up the good work :D Nieuport 28 FTW!! :D Salute! RvH
+Tailspin 3 Posted January 25, 2007 I agree with RVH. I haven't flown the N28 in a while so I loaded up the last version and I like it very much. Great job EmlD, Tex, and everyone else involved. Its been a good experience watching this project develop. Truly a ray of sunshine.
+TexMurphy 0 Posted January 25, 2007 (edited) RVH&Tailspin Thanks for the positve feedback guys! EmID I ment the empty inertia... got me self a spreadsheet setup so I can easily calc it for upcomming planes.. ;) Also could you do me a favor Ive got a small typo in the FM.... Under LeftAileron CDdc=0.01295 should be CDdc=0.0195 And Under TopWingTipRight CLa=0.26042 should be CLa=0.2642 Thanks Tex Edited January 25, 2007 by TexMurphy
+EmlD 3 Posted January 25, 2007 Hey Tex, Please check the last INI (few posts above), the CDdc and CLa data is different to your last post....it seems you have made changes and forgot to update it here, and now you correcting mistakes, that you only have..... Do you have TeamSpeak? Just page me in privatM, and i help you to set it up.....so we can tolk to each other. EmlD
+TexMurphy 0 Posted January 25, 2007 lol... you know Im a moron right... N24 and N28 are names soo much alike.. Ive started the work on the 24 FM and I must have edited my local N28 FM by mistake. The values in the uploaded version are the correct and the latest. Tex
+sinbad 27 Posted January 25, 2007 Tex - Thanks for all the nitty work which makes this bird fly right. I see one post at 2 am and another at 7:08 - your boss is a real hard case! I am confused. I just found the changes identified in post 196 in the uploaded version of the Data.ini which I got from the link in post 191. Do I keep the changes from post 196 or not?
+TexMurphy 0 Posted January 25, 2007 (edited) 196 was my mistake ignore it and use the latest attached fm... alterantivly download the N28.rar Reason you see these times is because Im from sweden and my nickname has nothing to do with the state of Texas... ;) Tex Edited January 25, 2007 by TexMurphy
