(S!) ALL hi ;-)

Glad you like it, if you take a good close look at it you

Will see the cameo under the white bleeding through

This was painted out in the field, unlike MvR’s last

Dr1 that was painted at the factory.

Hi, v. Deutschmark!

In a few publications I have, written by Greg VanWyngarden, it indicates that Göring first flew the all-white Fokker D.VII (F) 5125/18 in late September 1918, while leader of JG1. GvW believes, and the accompanying photos support him, that the plane was painted white at the factory. The photos reveal that the white finish is immaculate, without a hint of overpainted lozenge, and the black weights table, serial number, starboard-side datum line and the wingtip "hier anheben" placards are all starkly visible against it, as is the starboard cowl manufacturing plate. Normal German practice was to paint right over all this information, rather than to meticulously paint around it with the multiple coats of white paint it would have taken to cover the much darker lozenge, something Göring didn't do on his other airplanes.

I offer this as a constructive FYI, in case this is the plane you skinned, and not some other white D.VII (although I believe this was the only white D.VII Göring flew). If so, perhaps you can add the black serial/weights table/placards/ plate in an update? That would complete this most unique skin.

(S!) ALL hi ;-)

Update for Göring’s (Snow White) DVII,

You will then end up with the whets table and fokker numbers on the body of the plane.

Thanks for the heads up on this JFM.
