+LloydNB Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 (edited) I was just wondering whether the lozenge pattern used for German aircraft was standard, in terms of size, or whether it was scaled for the aircraft? I just noticed with the new Zeppelin-Staaken that each lozeange is about half the size of one of the crew figures. However, if you look at a Fokker D.VIII skin each lozenge is about head size. Intuitively I would have thought that a standard pattern was used. Although when applied to a big bomber this might look annoyingly small. Any views? LloydNB Edited March 8, 2007 by LloydNB

LloydNB 4-color lozenge bolt was 4' 3.25" wide. 5-color bolt was 4' 6" wide. Source: Fokker D.VII (Anthology 1), Albatros Productions, 1997, page 64.
