Help for SP1 rookie

Finally got around to trying this series. Would appreciate it if anyone can recognize what's wrong with my initial install here -

 

I installed SP1 straight outa the box and then applied patch 1, 2. 3 and up to 3.2.

 

The glitch appears at wierd grey rectangles like those attached to this scooter - any help appreciated.

Turn off aircraft shadows. That's a known ATI glitch in this series.
