Ultimate Universe-the Basics.

Recommended Posts

The Ultimate Universe Mod began in January 2007 with the goal then being

a three stage development process. Chris Jones Gaming as an entity had

just begun, and the team, growing by the day, was off to create one heck

of a mod. The team acquired modelers, mappers, scripters, programmers,

and other 'staff', among them, 'Moonraker'. We ended up releasing a

'demo' on 4/14/07 - Followed immediately by a little patch to fix a few

things. The UU team was quick to respond to certain bugs that made it

into the Demo.

Patch two was released to the public on 5/21/07 after much beta

testing, which included all new TOS ships from Moonraker, and a reworked

single player campaign from Gamemaster, among other things. Many new

missions and 1 on 1 maps added. Note here that many new Game Modes were

added to UU by Tjoz along the way. Mindwipe provided many new sound

effects and produced a very nice soundtrack for each race in the mod.

Patch 2 was not the end - Writeall, Mindwipe, and Moonraker came up

with The Ultimate Borg - the most accurate Borg ever seen in a Star Trek

game. Along with the Cube, several maps using it were released,

including revamped versions of Wolf 359 and First Contact. As of this

writing the UU team is preparing 'The Ultimate Dominion', headed up by

Phoenix, which will add or update 20+ ships to the game. The new ships

will get a '1 on 1' as well. The Ultimate Dominion will include many

new maps and scenarios related to Deep Space Nine.

The team is headed towards Stage 2 - and Stage 3. The Borg, Dominion,

New Voices, and an 'Upgrade System' are considered add-ons. There are

some even bigger things than those cooking on the stove right now. We

are planning something called 'The Ultimate Universe Diaries' - a

series of Podcasts with various UU team members - Here's direct link to

Part 1 of the diaries.
