+{FL}Hausser Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 I don't know if it is a problem specific to me or something I need to fix someplace else. I have noticed when I fly the skin I made for the Colorado ANg it will often times spawn planes with no tail codes. The decals on the tail section are gone. There are times when I will spawn with the tail decals, my lead flight will have theirs then the second flight nothing. Is there something I need to edit someplace? Anyone have an idea? Quote
+Major Lee Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 Hausser, please post your decal.ini here... Probably a "level" issue... ( 0, 1 or 2)... (refer to the decal instructions in the CA download section) Quote
Guest Sony Tuckson Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 It's only because the amount of decals avbl with the level is not enough I mean, the game engine doesn't check how many serials are avbl for a given skin, it chooses a number in a series from 1 to 100, even if only 8 decals are done, ending up with no serial showing up. Not sure I was clear, but if it's so, tell me, I'll try to be clearer...;) Quote

+Major Lee Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 Hausser, have you seen the SF decal tutorial? http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...mp;showfile=345 This is a "must read" for modders... It will explain about "levels" and how sequentially ordered decals are applied... I see you do not have "decal level" on your ini.... Quote
+drdoyo Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 Decal Level looks good to me, with the exception of decals 9 and 10. Assuming those are squadron markings they should be DecalLevel=1. I don't think that is your problem though. I agree with Sony Tuckson. If you only have 11 decals and the game engine is looking for decal075 for that particular aircraft then nothing will show. You can over-ride this in single mission by manually assigning each aircraft the specific tailcode decal assuming you have a numberlist.ini in the skin's folder. Campaign is a different story. AFIK thee is no way to regulate tailnumbers in campaign short of having decal000 through decal099. Check out my USN Modex pack, and my Flanker skins, for examples of what I'm saying. I started the Modex numbers for the very reason of the way the campaign engine uses aircraft numbers. Hope this helps. Quote
+{FL}Hausser Posted September 19, 2007 Author Posted September 19, 2007 Yep it does. Limitations of the game ;) Quote
HrntFixr Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 Yep, you need 16 decals for you numbers/tailcodes etc... if you have less, say 10, when the game generates missions it will randomly pick numbers. if it picks 11 and above nothing shows up. Quote
