Aeroscout Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 I am thinking about getting Wings over Europe so that I can play my uncle. I usually play lockon, but my uncle is not up to the steep learning curve... sooooo... WOE looks like a good compromise. I had a few questions. What as the enemy AI like? is a one on one fight chalenging? (Like in lockon) How does this compare to lockon in general? which game is "better?" WOV or WOE? do the maps reflect real world geography? And what's online play like? Thanks Quote
+suhsjake Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 1. Yes and no. IF you want a challenging dog fight make sure you have your difficulties settings on. 2. Lock-On = UBER REALISTIC, WOE = Somewhat realistic 3. Same Game, Just different Time Periods. So is SFP1. Just make sure you get the latest patch. 4. Yes and No. Some is very close, some isn't. The Major land marks are there, the minor stuff isn't. 5. Online is pretty fun. Just get Hamachi and its all good. Quote
+JediMaster Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 WoE is great for a "jump in and fly" experience. MP is a bit limited, but it works. LOMAC makes you have missions for MP, WoE will generate one randomly, although it won't be very elaborate. WoV has slightly older planes than WoE, different locations, etc. However, other than that the game is identical. Quote
Aeroscout Posted October 4, 2007 Author Posted October 4, 2007 Thank you very much. The only reason i was considering WoV was for carrier landings. Simple multi player is good. if I want the complex stuff, I'll play lock on. How do these games do with Vista? what's hamachi? is it like Hyperlobby? Quote
+suhsjake Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Hamachi sets up a virtual LAN connection between two computers. So a guy in the USA and be on a LAN network with a guy from India, etc... It supports a lot of people. Here's a link. https://secure.logmein.com/products/hamachi/vpn.asp?lang=en As for Vista, read this thread. http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=19172&hl= Quote
