How to get a PERFECT cockpit for the Albatros D5a

Recently i've discovered that it's possible to move parts from the cockpits.

And now i get a perfect view for Aladar's Albatros cockpit.

Follow this easy instructions to get a perfect view of it:

 

1) Make a fresh install of First Eagles and don't patch it.

 

2) Download SFP1E File Extract Util and extract the file ALBATROSD5A.LOD from the file Objects.dat of the unpatched install.

3) Copy ALBATROSD5A.LOD to the Albatros5a folder of your default FE install.

 

4) Edit AlbatrosD5a_COCKPIT.INI and make the following changes:

 

Change the cockpit position to this one:

 

Position=-0.001,-1.21,0.6765

Offset=0.00,0.1,-0.02

 

Add the lines below at the end of the [CockpitSeat001] section:

 

Instrument[007]=MoveItem1

Instrument[008]=MoveItem2

 

And add the lines below at the end of the file:

 

[MoveItem1]

Type=AIRSPEED_INDICATOR

NodeName=L Spandau

MovementType=POSITION_Z

Set[01].Position=-99

Set[01].Value=0.0

Set[02].Position=-99

Set[02].Value=1.0

 

[MoveItem2]

Type=AIRSPEED_INDICATOR

NodeName=R Spandau

MovementType=POSITION_Z

Set[01].Position=-99

Set[01].Value=0.0

Set[02].Position=-99

Set[02].Value=1.0

 

And you get a PERFECT Albatros cockpit :biggrin: :

(the external guns will fit perfectly in the cockpit gun mounts)

not quite perfect :wink: but it is much better

 

shame aladar never finished it (its such a great pit) after TK modded the game for it (which was pretty amazing of him)

what would be really nice would be away of adding another layer of lods to the models for these small changes...

its kinda possible with the weapons editor but kinda clunky and VERY hard in the pit mesh..
