dexxa Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Apologies for the basic nature of my question, but I suppose we all have to start somewhere On the assumption that a given AC can only have one "active" skin applied at a time, is there some sort of skin-swap utility running around, or do I just need to set up some sort of manual swap regime .. and if so what is recomended ? (If it helps, I'm quite pc literate .. but am a 3rdW virgin and not familiar with all their file mgt details yet) Thx Gents, Quote
Guest Sony Tuckson Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 the game always default to the first skin described in the textureset.ini file you can manually choose the skin you want to fly to 1 point though, the game chooses a skin belonging to the operator described in the plane ini file, even if it's not the first skin Quote
dexxa Posted October 25, 2007 Author Posted October 25, 2007 Upon further investigation I see where skins are stored in sub-dir of the AC. Quite user friendly I might add. In CFS3/IL-2 you have to jump thru hoops to change skins and here the main interface will do it for you !! Let me ask this please .. is there some sort of "skin preview viewer " available, or do I just have to keep reloading to see what's what ?? Thx for the reply btw Quote
Jimbib Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Unfortunately, without the original model files, you're gonna have to do the keep on loading the game up to see the changes of your skins on the aircraft. If you happen to have the source files of an aircraft however you're in luck. By running the image editing software, and the modeling software at the same time, you can see the changes instantaneously. This is however impossible for the stock aircraft, as so far, there is no .lod viewer program that is advanced enough to be of any practical use. Quote
dexxa Posted October 25, 2007 Author Posted October 25, 2007 Gotcha ... Thx. To be honest, it's so nice to find a flight simm that handles skin changing as easily as this series does that not being able to preview is not a big deal. Quote
