DWCAce Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 This weekend I got a WD 500 gig external drive. It comes with some trial-ware for Memeo Autosync & Memeo Autoback up, both 30-day trials. I was wondering if anyone knows if these programs are worth the purchase price (I'm not sure what it is yet, or if I'll buy either of them), or if there are better (and preferably FREE) alternatives out there. Also, would there be any advantage in partitioning the drive? Quote
JediMaster Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 The advantage in partitioning is if there's a software problem (ie not physical) with the data storage on one partition, you only lose that partition. However, you don't want to put too many on there. I generally split a drive in half. Never used those programs, though. Quote
DWCAce Posted November 26, 2007 Author Posted November 26, 2007 I was thinking two sections would do it... but apparently I need to format it from FAT32 to NTFS first... Quote
column5 Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 Can''t comment on those programs. I use Norton Backup and Restore which is the home version of Ghost. It kicks ass for $50. Quote
