Paratroopers

Hello all,

 

Just a quick question.

 

I recently installed WoV and SFP 1 and uninstalled my older files. I added all the patches from Third Wire and added the latest weapons package. Everything is working fine.

 

I did find something strange though. I have Paratroopers that appear with my fighter load outs. As a lark, I decided to attach them to the MF F-8 Crusader to see what they would look like. TO my surprise these giant Paratroopers appear on the screen.

 

Any interaction causes a CTD. Has anyone else seen this and how do I eliminate the Paratroopers from my weapons file. I'm still somewhat of a newbie to the operations of things even though I've had the games for a little while now.

It's probably because the Paratrooper is treated as a bomb by the game, so when it can't find the bomb specified in your LOADOUT.INI it tries to load the nearest available bomb in the Weaponsdata.dat file.

 

So find out why the bomb specified in your LOADOUT.INI isn't appearing and you can get rid of your Paras.

 

The Paras should still work though. When you release them they should float down and make a small bang when they land.

 

If you're getting CTDs with them the something else is really wrong.

You need to get hold of a newer paratroop lod, I think the original lod in the weapons pack had a scale problem, check one of the C-47 planes, there is a newer lod there, follow the instructions since it may require some ini editing.

 

Come to think, check one of the Mi-8 helos too
