What is this, and what is it for?

There's a little circle inside the big one as you can see.

that is the "steering dot" for the AMRAAM/Sparrow Missile.....

 

shows which way missile will go to lead the target once it launches...

 

...as long as you keep it inside the big circle, your missile is sure to track....

So in other words I should aim at the little circle instead of the t.d. box to get the best range and accuracy?

there is always that magical button on the keyboard that has been there for years and years, called PRINT SCREEN.
