crash to black screen with cuba terrain

Ok, I wanted to use the Cuba terrain to set up a new series of mid eighties era missions, so I grabbed the OTC pack but just installed the terrain.

 

first I tried the instructions - pointing to the germany ce cat in the germany terrain- Crash to black when the mission loaded 80% - blue dialouge box- program is not responding

and needs to close.

 

so I tried the usual cat trick and coppied a cat from another terrain and renamed it. AE.CAT- Same problem CTB

 

this is my XP machine with a fully patched copy of WOE -this is stock cuba terrain (did not install the CA Starry tree mod yet)

 

instructions say OTC needs a dedicated install; but I only want the terrain at this point not the campiegn.

 

 

Any Ideas as to where I went wrong here?
