ATI was true to their word and released the new Cats at 3PM EDT. This is a big release, with a lot of bugfixes as well as performance increases, as well as quite a few new features.

Do these drivers just suck or is it just me?

 

I recently had to do a complete reformat of my machine. I went from the stock drivers to the new 3.8 drivers. I run a 9700 Pro AIW, and I'm just having 1 problem after another.

 

First off....my TV feature no longer works. I feel like several of my game have lag during SINGLE PLAYER!!! And I'm getting a ghosting when I open a window....in other words...it takes a second for the window to appear...and it slowly fades into view. There may be a feature turned on that's doin this...and it looks like I'm gonna have to F...I mean mess with it to get it all right. ARGH!@!!! The reformat was bad enough...this has just put the icing on the cake for me.

Well...I've changed a few settings here, and tweaked a few things there. It's running much better, and I even got the TV Tuner to work. Time for me to run a 3dmark score with it and see how my system is doin.

Anybody heard about the heat issues the new drivers have raised? Some people are claiming the drivers raise the heat on the card by over 10 degrees.
