Controller button assignments will not work in WOV

Recommended Posts

Ok,

I installed the base WOV sim. Then installed the latest patch from Third Wire.

Installed CH Control Manager (have CH Pro throttle, Pedals, and Fighterstick.

Button assignments will not work in WOV with my controllers. Axis assignments are working, but this is driving me crazy.

I hate using the keyboard, period. If I could set it up, I would never use it.

Pete

Can you describe the problem more? Are the keys you have assigned, not being the same as in the control/default.ini? Or is the game just not recognizing your buttons?

Have you added any of the weapons packs?

If so, then delete the 'AircraftObject.ini' in the Objects folder

Good luck!

Chief,

This sounds like a procedural problem with CH Manager. I see you posted this at the CH Hangar. Those experts will be able to help you. However, my two cents worth: After you installed CH Manager, did you use Control Wizard to select the all the controllers you wanted to program (going through the 8-axis, 32-buttons steps, etc)? After that, when you download the .map file from CH Hangar and selected it in CH Manager "Load" button, do you then select the "Mapped Mode" button at the top, then the "Download" button? My CH Manager always defaults to "Direct Mode" when I open it, so I have to select the "Mapped Mode" to get the programmed controls to install. Wait for it to install and tell you that it successfully installed with no conflicts. It will also tell you in the box at the upper right corner the name of the file being edited and installed. It should match the .map file you downloaded and selected. Click some of the buttons and check to see if commands have been installed for those buttons, like "F", "V", F3", etc. If they appear, it installed. If not, it didn't install for some reason.

From what folks have told have told me on CH Hangar, I am doing something wrong with the CH Control Manager Program.

I have always had problems understanding how to use this program, but am really trying to master it this time.

Thanks. Pete

P.S. Is beer still a member here?

Our e-mails must have crossed. I was intimidated by CH Control Manager at first, but once I had played with setting up a couple of simple controls like flaps and gear and it worked, I got more into it. I could not use a sim without it now as I always set my controllers up to use the same buttons even for different sims and never change the default settings within the sim. That way I never have to learn new key commands. Try setting up your own .map from scratch with a few button assignments. Ghost has a good manual on CH Hangar for learning the basics.
