+SidDogg Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 Hey all. Can anyone help me with coupling flaps to landing gear operations on an a/c? just something i wanna try out... Quote
+russouk2004 Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 Im not sure you can edit an ini file to do this....if in 3ds max.....you need to set animations to same slot to get them to work in tandem. Quote
FastCargo Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 Depends...if you make a fake 'landing gear' that uses the flap animation. FC Quote

+ST0RM Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 Pardon me for piggy backing on your thread, but if I wanted to limit the flap setting to a speed (to prevent overspeeding the flaps), would I adjust the DeployValue of that flap in the data.ini? I'm working on the KC-135 from Veltro and we have 4 flap settings (5 if you count up). For Flaps 20, our speed limit is 230kts, 220kts for 30 degrees and on down to full down at 50 degrees. I'd like to add this. Thanks! Storm Quote

Storm ...Absolutely. just change the Deploymethod to AUTOMATIC_MACH, and change the deployvalues of the flap to mach numbers [i.e., 0.2 for 0.2 Mach, etc.] or use the DeployMethod=MANUAL_WITH_BLOWBACK to make the flap simply retract on their own. FYI, this setting requires you to enter Retract values, also. Quote
DWCAce Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 again to piggy back on this, is it possible to manually set different flap settings w/o using the blowback command? I guess what I'm really asking is are we limited to two/three flap positions because of the game code, or is it something that we've just assumed? Quote

OH YEAH, we're limited to two. ...believe me, already tried that 3-setting thing.... Quote
+ST0RM Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 Thanks Sid. Got the flaps set for a 30 and 50 degrees with the appropriate speed restrictions. Now to mess with the fuel tanks/capacities and many other things. Man, I wish I could model in MAX to help out. -Jeff Quote
