Olham 164 Posted March 22, 2009 Got another SPAD XIII half an hour ago, and it's sheer extasy, when you know, what they CAN'T perform with their "speedo zoom boom diver planes", and wait just at THAT corner to nip the bud. Unfortunately, my bloodrush blinded my sights again for that red warning line, saying something about aircraft stress or so (by the time, I noticed it, the left wing had gone off). The Kaiser now doesn't know, wether to praise my kills, or to send me bills for the four Albatros, I have already cost the Reich. Some at headquarter speculate even, about me working for the enemy! That's really not fair - the crash hurt!!
Hasse Wind 46 Posted March 23, 2009 Congratulations for shooting down a SPAD XIII. They are nasty buggers. I've been flying with my Pfalz D.III a couple of missions. No kills yet, but Pfalz is a much better plane for diving after SPADs and other Entente heavy-weighters than any Albatros I've seen. No wings breaking off in the middle of the fight... keeps Der Kaiser happy! (Just don't try to outturn any Camels with the Pfalz, got myself nearly killed trying that!) Olham 164 Posted March 23, 2009 Yes, Pfalz D IIIa is a sturdy battlehorse. Haven't tried her yet in BHaH, but I remember from Phase 2, that it was a very reliable plane, that didn't tend to stall easily. But certainly no turn fighter against an agile plane like the Camel. I used to shoot down Camels, flying a kind of in-and-out triangle, but I'm afraid, in BHaH, that will not be so easy anymore. I will try the Pfalz again, later. For the next weeks or even months, I will go on learning to get the best out of my beloved Albatros.
