cosmos33 Posted April 8, 2009 Author Posted April 8, 2009 So i wonder if i can buy a faster cpu for not to much $$$ and put it on my actual motherboard, or id i need to upgrade motherboard and CPu ...
Cameljockey Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Go to you mobo manufacturer and see what processors your mobo will support. A processor upgrade might be all you need. If you're maxed out on the processor, then look for a mobo. If you are and are looking at upgrading your mobo and CPU, may I suggest Intel? CJ
cosmos33 Posted April 8, 2009 Author Posted April 8, 2009 If i upgrade my mobo and CPU, will i need to reinstall windows ? and everything on my hard drive ?
messaround Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 (edited) I have similar system with cpu a little faster then yours Amd X2 6000 gtx 260 4gigs Ram sliders at - 3,5,3,3,4,1...you probably gonna be ok with 3,3,3,3,3,1...don't rush with cpu upgrade, see how it plays with 4600 first if you decide to upgrade mobo and cpu, consider switching to Intel (better for OFF) and yes, you'll have to reinstall everything Edited April 8, 2009 by messaround
