Macklroy 2 Posted April 24, 2009 OFF plays beautifully on my computer. Runs smooth with all the settings maxed. (i dropped scenery and terain to 3 to pick up a few fps). But every once in a while windows will pop up an error message saying that 'windows as detected a problem' then it kicks me out of QC or campaign mission right back to the brieffing screen. These are the files that windows said 'may' be causing a problem. Anyone heared of windows vista64 randomly shutting down the game? Really frustrating when after a 40-60 minute mission i get booted to the briefing screen and have to do it all over again. Anyway, other than that these are the files that are brought up after the error. C:\Users\owner\AppData\Local\Temp\WER675C.tmp.version.txt C:\Users\owner\AppData\Local\Temp\WER7542.tmp.appcompat.txt C:\Users\owner\AppData\Local\Temp\WER7CA2.tmp.mdmp S! sitting_duck 3 Posted April 25, 2009 mac will post any info for you as i find it http://www.lockergnome.com/it/2005/06/17/h...h-appcompattxt/ appcompattx is nothing but a text file that tells you about the problem that windows encountered, as the link above explains. So going to assume that the files you posted are not the problem, they are just files created as a result of some othere problem.....im sure if you look at the text file its gonna be like it was in greek,,,but,,,somewhere in there,,,it may point you to the reason windows shut down. sitting_duck 3 Posted April 25, 2009 http://www.compatdb.org/support/topics/129..._all_games.html this site wont help,,,,lol...just letting you know its not an uncommon problem (ie,,,you are not alone,,,if that makes u feel better) might not be a waste of time to go here...http://www.malwarebytes.org/ its a SAFE site, and it got rid of a piece of adware that was redierecting me to other pages. I tried for weeks to get rid of it, (and im pretty good at adware), and had no luck. this did it in 10 minutes. will keep looking for anymore info
sitting_duck 3 Posted April 25, 2009 ok,,,the mdmp is a "minidump", so i gotta feeling all three files you listed are all error reporting files. so,,,i think you have to take a good look at that appcompat file,,,to find something that indicates what the problem is. and,,like i said,,,run everything you have in the way of virus/addware removal... sitting_duck 3 Posted April 25, 2009 if you want,,,,,at the bottom of the screen when you are posting a message,,there is and upload button,,,,,and a browse to the left of it...browse to the appcompat file,,,and upload it,,,the click on mange current attachments,,,and click on the green plus sighn,,,that will put a link to the file in your message,,,and then people can look thru it,,and maybe someone will spot the problem
