The decoration by the Iron Cross? I've never heard anyone discuss what it was for but it seemed to be quite common.

But I like most the "Ausgeh-Uniform" (uniform for representation).

There is that badge again, and I think, it might be just the Flieger-Abzeichen (aviator's badge) then,

Well, they certainly say they can and I'm tempted.

 

The badge turns out to be a basic Aviator's Badge, like the pilot's Wings over the pocket in WWII.

I went to this site to see if I could get a better view on a pilots photo. Turns out, they have a whole section on awards, etc. The basic badge shape was pretty much constant, and then a pilot/observer or gunner symbol filled the inside of the wreath.
