Hello,

I'm new here and I've been wondering if there's any accurate way of bombing enemy tanks using F-4's after I run out of mavericks on a CAS mission. I don't use a flight stick and that makes accurately firing rockets really hard. I usually go for the rockeyes, but unless I dive bomb, I miss the target. Any suggestions? Dive bombing takes a lot of time and it seems that only the AI's are able to put rockets to good use.

Thanks

Well you're not alone. It's rockeyes for me. And I'm having difficulty with rockets as well.

Without a stick things get tough, I fly the F-4 A LOT and even with a stick she takes a good and steady hand. (like Chess stay a couple of steps ahead in your thinking) Download the Updated Range mod and practice A LOT! Use different weapons, AoA, Dive Bombing and level bombing runs. Practice all aspects of Mud moving, SEAD, CAS, and Strike. IMHO having a stick makes a world of difference and you can get a good one for less than $20 :good::biggrin:

You can drop Rockeyes in pairs with a large interval so that they'll cover a larger area but still leave you a chance to make more runs.

I'm not sure if this sim models this, but try hitting the tanks from the top and from the rear. That was the least armored part of the tank and susceptible to hits.
