Wildfowler Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 Can any of you experts identify which aircraft it is hanging in the tree in my avatar? I have searched and found three different answers!!
scouserlad13 Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 I think its a Curtiss Jenny, thats what ive found anyway. http://www.vlib.us/wwi/resources/archives/...050203/key.html https://www.fiddlersgreen.net/models/aircra...-MailJenny.html (go to the bottom of the page)
Wildfowler Posted June 30, 2009 Author Posted June 30, 2009 Thanks for that. A Jenny is one of the answers I got. Another was a BE2 and also an Avro 504 which I think unlikely.
PinkPanther Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 Haha..how can we tell from such a small photo? Find another copy that is much bigger.

Wildfowler Posted July 1, 2009 Author Posted July 1, 2009 Hmm, i dont know his name but im thinking he had something along the lines of bark for breakfast. Ok ill stop now You may be right! However you could be barking up the wrong tree!!! There is the actual tale of a WW1 pilot whilst on a training flight in dear old Blighty had the misfortune to crash into a tree on a farm. The intrepid aviator managed to climb out of the aircraft and down the tree just as the farmer arrives "I say, have you had a crash?" asked the concerned farmer "No!" replies the aviator "I always bloody well land like that!"
