ArturR 17 Posted July 23, 2009 (edited) It was a dual rail designed in polish aviation institute for R-3S missile called "PBP-2-3S Monsun", just like dual rails for F-4 Phantom or F-8 Crusader. It was specially designed for the MiG-21 PFM version because in the basic variant carried only two rockets. So it was designed mainly to increase shot-down probability. However their use was abandoned when Mig-21M/MF/BIS appeared in our air forces which typically have four pylons for rockets and even dual rails for R-60 missiles.
