yakhiasi 0 Posted July 26, 2009 Good morning from Austria, just wanted to keep up with the project news: We are just working on the certification now of the Albatros, it will be made under supervision of the OUV in Germany together with the LBA (Luftfahrtbundesamt) I am just sitting on a pack of reports, restricitions and the latest European Certification Standard book (428 pages) which tells us how to built the Albatros ... Even with the Instruments what to have inside.... and a fuel flow meter for the fuel ok enough to laugh !! I will now start with the aircraft and pilot handbook, therefore i got nice books which i guess you know: one is very good : From Bleriot to Spitfire (from the Shuttleworth Collection) 1977 and how to fly them... Much paperwork, but hopefully there are some backdoors and friends in all aviation histories who welcome those planes to see them in the air again! Folks a special question to you: i would like to use for the cover of the handbook and some papers the gif drawing of mr. v. Hochmuth´s Albatros which you can find in the internet... (http://wp.scn.ru/en/ww1/f/175/175/2/19) does anyone know where i an get the contact with him to get a copyright for using now on the Real Albatros ´s handbooks? Or does anyone of you have such 2d or 3d jpgs or gifs of our 253.24 Albatros? Thank you in advantage, pictures will come soon hopefully also videos of a new Engine Testrun beside Mr. Mayrhofer´s finished 2nd static Albatros Matthias! Olham 164 Posted July 26, 2009 Hey, Mathias If you only make some copies for your own use on this Albatros, you wouldn't need copyrights. Only when you intend to get a larger print job done. You can contact the webmaster of the Wings Palette site (mail-address is usually bottom, right). I'm not so sure about the type style used for the number on the side. It looks like Gill Sans, and I wonder, if that type should have been in use so early?
yakhiasi 0 Posted July 26, 2009 Thank you initially for the info.. Well the Handbooks and Operating Manuals will be used privat! I just try to locate also a 3 side view drawing of OEFFAG Albatros, o do have original side drawings, but maybe someone has done that so far to save me time.... Ill try to contact wings palette webmaster for the Copyright fact, lets have a look what he says! But anyhow, a nice 3D animated Albatros gif would be top ! So far Matthias :-)
Olham 164 Posted July 26, 2009 Matthias - being a graphic designer, I can offer you this: Send me some well made photographs (digital) of the craft from various angles (also from a little higher than the standing craft). I could then make a collage of that craft in Photoshop, pretending it was flying. If that's what you want, I could PM you my mail address for the pictures. I would do it for free. Olham, you could make the skin for the OAW D.III and use it in OFF. Maybe take some shots of it, and then blend the photo to get the look of the OEFFAG D.III. The obvious difference is in the nose, but it would be a pretty good rendition as it has an almost identical look, tail and all. If you need some help, just ask me. But I think it can be done. Matthais, I'd love to see some photos as well. I'm very curious to see the wing camo patterns and colors. It was something we really worked hard on in OFF, and I was hoping to see how you guys approached the look of the OEFFAG. All the best, OvS

Olham 164 Posted July 26, 2009 (edited) Looking forward to the pics, Matthias Maybe one idea, to get to some good pics, OvS - I'll see what I can do. Pol had an Oeffag DIII shown recently. So, if he has a model, I could send him the skin? Edited July 26, 2009 by Olham
