Download TrackIR Software 5.0.

Many thanks to those of you that participated in the beta testing process. Numerous helpful suggestions and requests shaped the development of the 5.0 software, and we hope that you recognize your input in the final result.

Note: Support for TrackIR 3 with Vector will be introduced in software version 5.1. In the meantime, TrackIR 3 users can still use the 4.x software for full functionality in your favorite games and simulations.

The TrackIR 5 Advantage

We've received numerous inquiries about how our new TrackIR 5 compares with previous generations. simhq-logo.jpg For a full reveal of the technical advancements introduced with TrackIR 5, check out our interview with SimHQ. Read on to learn how TrackIR 5's technical capabilities translate to an improved in-game experience.

In particular, you'll never have to choose between tracking speed and smoothness again. TrackIR 5 allows you to maximize responsiveness without sacrificing tracking stability. In-game view corresponds to head movement with more accuracy and immediacy. Whether you want to dominate your competition or simply immerse yourself in a cross-country flight, TrackIR 5 offers new levels of tactical and immersive control:

trackir5-unit.jpg First Person Shooters

Snapping your view from target to flank and back againall without breaking weapon target lock or giving your position awayis now a faster, cleaner, and more intuitive control. When you check your flanks, your view will be steadier, even at extreme head angles.

Combat Flight

Track even the most skilled aerial adversaries though any maneuver they can throw at you. Snap your view to their tailpipe in an instant and track them all the way into your sights with far steadier tracking at extreme angles. Utilize increased trackable real estate to fully navigate your virtual environment in pursuit of opponents.

Flight Sim

Immerse yourself in your cockpit with smoother and steadier tracking than ever before. Focus on every detail of your instrument panel with ease. Your tracking will be stable wherever you navigate throughout the 3D cockpit, enabling the full interactivity of a real plane.

Racing

When you're racing around the track at 140 mph, split-second decisions make the difference between taking first and last. Hit the apex without waiting for TrackIR to catch up to your reflexes. Check your mirrors or gauges in an instant without losing track of your surroundings. Look where you want, when you want, and trust that TrackIR will be there.

Yes, Final-B is much better than the early betas. NP has done a great job of listening to the problems and requests from users and implementing the necessary changes. I am extremely satisfied with this latest release.

Frankly though, if you have TIR4, there really is no particular reason to run 5.0 software (unless you just like having the latest) as it was designed specifically for the TIR5 with it's increased resolution and speed. If I had TIR4, I personally would probably not use 5.0. 4.0 may actually even work better (don't know that) as 5.0 has to perform some scaling math to work with the TIR4 because of the difference in resolution. TIR5 truly is a different animal.

Of course it certainly won't hurt to try it and compare to the 4.0 software. Who knows, you may find you like 5.0 better (funny how we all perceive things differently).

Hope that help some.
