Help with a SF2:V mod

I recently downloaded and installed v2 of the ground war enhancment pack for SF2:V. After flying around for a while in the rolling thunder campaign ive realised that there are no MiG-17s appearing. Other flights call out bogeys and im able to cycle through them using f6 but they are not there. Is this a missing lod or ini problem? Or do I need to uninstall and re-install everything?

After having a little fiddle around with it, it appears that the fresco 'A' versions arnt showing up. All the other versions seem to be working fine.

OK, but are the A models not showing up just in campaigns, or in Single Missions as well?

They are not showing up in campaign or single missions. Im not much of an ini guru but I had a look at it and it seems fine.

Sounds like a missing LOD problem, then. Is your installation SF2V alone or is it a merged install with SF2V plus SF2 and/or SF2E?

 

I'm thinking that your installation simply doesn't have a plain MiG-17A.

Its a standalone install. Although I do have the other two second gen titles. Maybe a combined install will solve the problem?

Before you do a merged install, try this:

That's a version of the MiG-17A that uses the MiG-17F LODs. To install, move your current Objects\Aircraft\MiG-17 directory out of your SF2V Mod Folder to some place safe on your drive (don't delete it). Then download and unpack the RAR file above. Finally, move the MiG-17 folder to the Objects\Aircraft directory in your SF2V Mod Folder.

 

The MiG-17A should now start appearing. Try a few Escort or Sweep missions prior to 1968. If it doesn't appear or if it looks funny when it does, let us know.

That file appears to have solved the problem. The MiGs are now showing up and killing my squadron members

 

Thanks for your help mate. By the way its an excellent mod. I like the fact that the flak is much more deadly than vanilla SF2:V. Much harder to get out of the North unscathed now...
