The guy who had already invented it went back in time to tell his prevoius self how to do it Yes, and I hear that after he invented the time machine, he went back in time and re-invented the time machine in less time because he did it while NOT making any of the mistakes that he made the "first" time he made it, since he now knew exactly what did and didn't work.
