Beer 0 Posted February 10, 2004 While testing some software, Delorme Streetmap with a GPS I was being driven around as the wife hit her to do list, and as my laptop passed areas I noticed that wireless network availible would show up. Here I sit in a parking lot using a Wireless network that does not belong to me...LOL sweet, interneting while wife is running the errounds...it truly is that easy...be warned if you are running a wireless network. zagnut 0 Posted February 10, 2004 My brother in law, who is a guru with the Wifi, is working on a thing in Houston called "The Westheimer Project" It's a major street that runs the length from uptown on down. He can drive from one end to the other along this very lengthy road and still keep a rather good signal on his Centrino laptop. Dude, that is sweet.
GhostDog 0 Posted February 10, 2004 Here in Copenhagen, Denmark you can drive practically all over town and stay connected to the net.... very lax security IMO
SlickWili 0 Posted February 11, 2004 It reminds me of the days when local dial-up Internet access was free. Wireless has re-created that environment... for now. :D
