Stary's Effects pack #3

I tried PMing Stary, but he hasn't replied. After installing this effect pack, my burners have stopped working. Really, what I was after were the new flare effects.

 

Does anyone have a good handle on the files needed for just the flares and smoke?

 

I was using the PARTICLESYSTEM.INI in my Flight folder plus the following in my Effects folder:

COUNTERMEASUREEFFECT.INI

FLARE.TGA

FLAREFLASH.TGA

FLAREGLOW.TGA

FLARESMOKE.TGA

EE3_FLAREFLASH.TGA

 

The flare glow and effect looked very real, but my smoke ended up looking like this:

 

 

Any help?

Jeff I had that same problem until I updated my vid card drivers.

IIRC Stary released an fixing pack in Effects pack release thread.

Got the update pack, but it's still not working correctly. It still kills off the burners. I've narrowed it down the PARTICLESYSTEM.INI file. It lists AFTERBURNEREMITTER and AFTERBURNEREMITTER2 only. So I removed it for a test and sure enough, my afterburner flame came back.

 

As for my flare issue, I added all of the files with smoke in the name and I've got the excellent flares and good smoke. The flare effect must use bits from others, that weren't listed in the INI. Or I could have missed them.

 

So, now I'll go back and see if adding AFTERBURNEREMITTER3 and it's entry into the PARTICLESYSTEM.INI will give me all of the burner effects.
