Rickitycrate 10 Posted September 17, 2009 Hi guys. Picked up a secondhand X45. I know nothing about it at this time. Looks brand new.... Anyway if anyone would care to share their button assignments they are using with this stick for OFF I would appreciate your input. Some assumption on my part, someone using this stick...... hey it may be a big step up from what I was using. If it is somehow nichtszogoot for OFF perhaps it will be good for IL2. Thanks. sitting_duck 3 Posted September 17, 2009 (edited) ive got the x45 and love it,,,only problem is with xp64 i cant use profiler,, but its really no problem to set the buttons in the games controler section.... will outline my settings,,,but considering that these have such a bearing on personal preference,,,am sure you will want to eventually figure out your own..... a button f3 (toggle cockpit) b button f4 (foggle views) fire button under safe screen shot fire c button (on back of joystick) enter (fire secondary) bottom right hat switch left alone (is view settings by default) upper right hatswitch : up backspace (select weapon) right t (toggle tac on off) left shift+t (toggle tac items) throttle control... d f5 (hud) the four way on the back of the throttle up is f12 (center trackir) down is f9 (disable trackir) the four way on the front of the throttle up is ] zoom in down is [ zoom out left is idle + and right is idle minus (forget the key commands for these) if you ever decide you dont like the unit,,let me know.......lol and,,if the trigger stops working,,or if the rudder stops working,,let me know,,,ive fixed both just tooo many times... this is the mine.xca file,,,,make sure you copy yours to a safe place if you plan to try it... Rickitycrate 10 Posted September 17, 2009 (edited) Thanks so much SD. I thought you had mentioned you use this stick. I found and printed a manual. I run Vista and I don't have the driver disc but I found the Saitek site and can download the driver from there. It's too late to mess with it tonight but your info will help for starters for sure. I am also greatly encouraged that you like using yours. Do you use the rudder control, I find this arrangement intriquing as I don't have a rudder set. My throttle seems stiff to move, is that normal? Cool, I found the throttle adjustment on the bottom and she works easier now. sitting_duck 3 Posted September 17, 2009 yes,,i use the rudder,,and if i remeber right, did not have to set any of the axis in the contoller,,,they all got assigned just fine as defaults..... depending on what controller you have,,,when you do to control panel/game conrollers/properties you may, or may not get a "calibrate" option. Its a funtion of the firmware that they built into some of the conrollers. some have it,,some dont. if you dont get the calibrate, you do get a window where you can move all the axis's around, and see the result, and its sort of "self calibrating" Its a tough stick,,and will take abuse,,,just try not to squezze the trigger with too much,,,or lay into the rudder too much,,,these are what always seem to go first.. Rickitycrate 10 Posted September 17, 2009 (edited) Update. This morning I plugged in my stick and my laptop found the drivers. I checked the calibration and functions of the buttons and it's all systems go. I went to try it out ingame but I could not fly because I had installed MadMatt's installer yesterday and now I get the message UnitData Model Name "60sq gotha" already exists. Seems perhaps this little hangup is another thing you may be able to help me with SD? Being the online man that you are. Help. Update; So I got to thinking and I deleted the gotha file from my aircraft folder. Now when I try to fly I don't get the gotha message. I get no message but in QC I get kicked back to the selection screen. I can't get to the field. Edited September 17, 2009 by Rickitycrate
sitting_duck 3 Posted September 17, 2009 you have the gotha in there twice.. the game does not look at the folders name for planes,,it looks at the files INSIDE the folder to see whats there..so if you have the gotha files in a folder called rickety,,it will still find them... so...look thru your aircraft folders,,,,,you must have one called GOTHA, cause thats what madmat puts in there,,,in addition to that,,you have another somewere,,,might be under 60ai gotha.. sitting_duck 3 Posted September 17, 2009 lol...sorry,,should read your post all the way thru....or you where posting when i was posting... I would find the other gotha folder that you have,,,and delete that one,,,and then rerun madmats installer...and put his back in.. realise that the other one has not been causing you problems in the past,,,but as madmatts works for everyone else,,thats the one i would use.. Rickitycrate 10 Posted September 17, 2009 (edited) Hmm... no go. Maybe I should reset OFF in the workshop and then do MadMatt's tool? I loose my skins then don't I? I have no pilots right now that I worry about losing. Edited September 17, 2009 by Rickitycrate

Rickitycrate 10 Posted September 17, 2009 Problem solved. Somehow my screen resolution got changed. Maybe with the joystick installation or Madmatt's, who knows. But I'm on the field now and can setup that X45. Sorry for any grief SD. You are a true friend for trying to help this moron. My best to you
