Oh well, this will not end soon

Recommended Posts

I don't want to get too much into politics here, but what does Latin America think of Manuel Zelaya.

From what I understand, he was removed from power legally because the Honduras Supreme Court and congress had ruled that the changes he was making to the Honduran constitution were illegal and an abuse of power. And that the military was ordered by the Congress to remove him per Honduran law.

But obviously, I don't live around there, so I don't know how true/untrue that is. Can anyone smarter on the situation enlighten me?

I'm +- in your situation....but for what was passed here, he was implementing social policy (since 50% of the country is under poverty line, and the usually the upper classes dislike) wich means state intervention in giving food or money to population directly , it happens here ,i guess with about 30% of population, and indeed this makes the money flow better inside the country.

well, such policy can't be implement in one time administration, since the thigs here work via personal intrests like, selling your vote.

For what it seems, Zelaya was trying to keep him im power to keep with his social policy, since other in power could stop with that, so he was trying to modify they constitution to get one more mandate.(nothing related with abuse of power here was broadcasted)

but he was discharged, by the court and the military, this last one thinks he is walking side by side with ''Chavist Block'' in Central/South America, so they discharged him for it.

its a delicated situation wich information and desinformation are colliding each other, so i may be not 100% sure of what is happening.

IMO my country is interventing too much, and i fear that some of ours can be out hurt...

The trouble is that Zelaya is a mean... well, he is the main land-owner of Honduras, but given that the pseudo-bolivarian style was up, he

passed the word of Chavez. Also the thing of the power hunger. Quite common lately South America, even Uribe is trying to overthrow it. The fact is that it was not the opposition, but his own party,

wich provided that Zelaya gives no s**t about the people, and the way he was about to drive the country, wich got the needed support to take him out legally. But they made the army take care of it. So

those using the mechanism to prevent attacks against democracy look, in front of the worl public opinion as revolted against democracy.

Don´t feel offended, but i don´t know wtf is Brazil doing hosting Zelaya. Perhaps the Vienna T. is against the embassy disturbance, but if you have somebody from inside the embassy acting outwards, like incitating to the violence or broadcasting radio, under your protection, you are responsable for it.

About the Sâo Paulo, i´m not sure that they would be in condition, by themselves, to gain air superiority against the Honduran military. Mirage 2000s should be sent to the area, either long away from their bases, or deployed somewhere else. Perhaps it would take, given the way that Zelaya is also supported by Chavez, some Venezuelan support. I don´t like the way things are going on

Sure, i understand....for all effects half country want's to rip his head off, and he still being treated as a an exilated, even if the bastard haven't asked about it...

and like, we, USA and whole america thinks he was removed illegaly of power, he was removed even before the final judge decision, so even if i don't agree(well, that's a clearly intervention in their dommestic affairs,IMO) we have to hold him there to avoid his head to being used as a football ball.

for the carrier...its about to get the ''operational status'' again, just finishing up some tests in the sea with new air defense systems, till that its being used as an helo carrier, since its the only ship in the damn whole fleet that is capable to operate the S-70 Sea Hawk....

when the news are comming....the media is reporting that Zelaya brought about 40 people with him  WTF!
