Fubar512 1,350 Posted September 23, 2009 An interesting account of a pair of boat builders really showing faith in their product, a 21' foot (6.5 meter) outboard powered 'flats" boat. A flats boat, is designed for shallow water operation in and around coastal flats, such as those on the Gulf-side of the Florida Keys. They're not designed for blue-water fishing, having low freeboard (hull-sides), and a sporting a low-profile bow, not the ideal setup for cutting through tall waves and providing lift when going into steep wave-faces.
