Tree/Fog mod broke my install

Recommended Posts

Yup, I was trying to apply the fog reduction from the mods section and somehow broke my install. I was using Modman and also looking at the graphics.cfg file. Instead of moving the ETL.fsc to another folder, I hid it in 2 folders in the same scenes folder where it lives. I am not sure my modman is still working properly. I tried adjusting the tree density there too. I was launching lomac through modman it it didnt' seem to help. The first time I tried it, I still had the graphics file open and I wonder if that might have been the problem. Maybe I should just reinstall? What a PITA.

Thanks.

Oh yeah, the menus load fine it's just the sim window hangs when starting to render. I just see my desktop, black window frame and flashing icons on my desktop.

OK I fixed it. Reinstall and then got msvcrt.dll error with entrypoint keyboard error thingy. Read up on how to fix. Sure enough, either Loman, my reinstall or both set me back to 2003 msvcrt version. Swaped with 2004 SP2 version from system32 file and all is well. Splashed some migs and laned back at base. Not sure about fog mod. My GeForce 7600GS is doing fine with low scenery but high textures. If someone wants to advise on how to employ the mod go right ahead. I will reinstall loman too as I think that was the problem. So glad my liftlines were still in the folder. Coolness.
