Hypoxia Claims Another...

Looks like hypoxia (I'm assuming that's the cause...) claims another unwary victim.

oh god....:salute:

but i've never heard about hypoxy in a small plane...just in those giant comercial planes and small pressurized jets...

It's got nothing to do with what type of aircraft you're in, it's based on altitude (or cabin altitude). Mooney's aren't pressurized, and I'm guessing (heading towards a slippery slope here..) he had an issue with his oxygen system, leading to incapacitation and subsequent loss of control.

That's one thing I wish civilian pilots could get more often is altitude chamber testing...so you can recognize your own hypoxia symptoms.

Man, they should train in Moscow underground in rush hours. They'll be able to get by without any oxygen...
