+DWCAce Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 Looks like hypoxia (I'm assuming that's the cause...) claims another unwary victim. Link
Silverbolt Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 oh god.... but i've never heard about hypoxy in a small plane...just in those giant comercial planes and small pressurized jets...
+DWCAce Posted October 1, 2009 Author Posted October 1, 2009 It's got nothing to do with what type of aircraft you're in, it's based on altitude (or cabin altitude). Mooney's aren't pressurized, and I'm guessing (heading towards a slippery slope here..) he had an issue with his oxygen system, leading to incapacitation and subsequent loss of control.
+FastCargo Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 That's one thing I wish civilian pilots could get more often is altitude chamber testing...so you can recognize your own hypoxia symptoms. Condolences to his family. FC
+Gr.Viper Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 Man, they should train in Moscow underground in rush hours. They'll be able to get by without any oxygen...
