Exporting WoI aircraft to Woe/WoV

Recommended Posts

Trying to exportate WoI airplanes by TK i got the bad surprise to see that all plane files were put totally randomly when extracted instead of in folders like in WoE and WoV. So i can't find a way to know / be sure of which plane files go to which plane folder.

Would someone know a way, or know the exact content (file names) of each aircraft folder of WoI?

Some files have the plane name so you can recognize them manually, but some others have generic names so it seems impossible to know to which aircraft they belong.

Any idea?

Edit: i have managed to reconstitue some planes so far (manually) but for example the shahak has its radar totally screwed, so i guess i put some bad files in the bad folder.

I assume you have WOV and WOE at the latest patched version (Oct 08 I think)- if not the newer avionics in WOI wont work in WOV/WOE!!

Firstly use the newer catpack extractor which will extract everything from a cat file.

You can then just copy over the bits you need. http://forum.combatace.com/topic/44027-extracting-files-from-sf2-series-cat-files-by-migbuster/

The bmp/tga files for the cockpit and avionics go in a "Cockpit" folder within the jets folder. however the cockpit.ini /avionics.ini file will sit in the main jets folder.

My problem was more "recognizing" them out of the WoI extraction, IDE knowing which file belong to which plane. Here is what i found:

A way is to open the plane DATA file and to spot the cited files, but generally those have the same name that the aircraft. For example "F15cockpit.lod" so you did not have problem to recognize at first. But you can also find the other files for example the Mirage 3CJ uses thee mirage 3 sight and not mirage 3CJ.

The decals (TGA files) are also melted into all that so you will have to recognize them, generally they have the word "Squadron" written somehow in their name. For example for the A-10 "A10sqL208.tga"

Once it is done, as Migbuster said, you need to figure out which files are cockpit/RADAR/RWR files. ALL those files MUST be put in a folder named cockpit inside the plane folder, no matter the order. To know which file is a cockpit file and which is not (when it's not obvious), just look in other plane folders where the corresponding file has been placed.

Once it is done, put the decals in WoE decal folder, and the plane in aircraft folder, and if you have not forgotten any file the WoI plane should work properly under Wings over europe.
