SF Gold problem

I just installed SF gold on my laptop, patched it to the october 2008 version, and now it won´t start

 

My drivers and DirectX are up to date, I tried the solutions in the KB and it still doesn´t start. What can i do?

 

 

Vista Starter Service Pack 2 32 bits

Intel GM965 processor

2.13GHz

1GB RAM

But it worked before the patch?? How far does it get?

 

You have the latest version of DX9 as well as DX10??? - because im not sure the correct DX9 came with Vista.
